Taking part in the Smooch! shoot with Jesse brought me back to days long ago when we were close. He is autistic and as a child, he had trouble communicating but, unlike others with autism, he allowed me to touch and snuggle with him. Then when he grew up, he didn’t want the physical aspect anymore, though we remained emotionally close. It was such a surprise that I didn’t have to convince him to do the picture. He was happy to smooch ~ it was almost magic!
I love how The Smooch! Project builds community. I completely support this project and believe strongly in the healing powers of not only expressing affection, but seeing it expressed. Thanks for all the great work!
