SMOOCH! CONTRIBUTORS’ GALLERY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
While it is the goal of the project photographer Bonnie Fournier to collect heart-lifting images from around the world, the happy reality is that there are far more affectionate people in the world than she could ever hope to personally photograph. In an effort to be inclusive, extending an open invitation to anyone interested in submitting their smoochy photographs to the Smooch! Contributors’ Gallery was the best solution to this challenge.
Files with extensions gif, jpg, jpeg, jpe, png, eps, tif, or tiff are accepted. Please submit the largest file (highest resolution) possible, up to 5 MB.
All submissions must include a “smooch,” preferably in similar poses as commonly seen in photos within The Smooch! Project Archive. Other demonstrations of affection, such as hugs, pats on the head, etc., while loving and appealing in their own right, are not a good visual or thematic fit for The Smooch! Project. Photographs of adults kissing lip-to-lip will also not be included within the Smooch! Contributors gallery. (See below for more on this guideline.) Smooch “Sandwiches” (i.e., more than 2 people) are welcome here. Please visit our gallery for examples of the kind of images we are looking for.
Everyone has their own personal definition of love and affection. The guidelines for contributed photos to this gallery are based on the personal definition of the project photographer. From her viewpoint, The Smooch! Project is about AFFECTION. Photographs of two adults kissing lip-to-lip always include a sexual undertone, however subtle. Sex is an extremely powerful human drive. Even the slightest hint of it within a photograph can easily overpower the obvious display of affection that Fournier aims for in every photograph within the Smooch! Project website. For this reason, the photographer has decided that lip-to-lip images will not be included within the Smooch! galleries. In addition, obviously sexual or pornographic submissions will not be published.
To ensure that photo guidelines are met, all submitted photographs will be reviewed and approved BEFORE being uploaded to The Smooch! Project website. The final decision to publish is entirely at the discretion of the project photographer, Bonnie Fournier. Please note: Submitting your photograph for consideration does NOT automatically guarantee its publication.
We will use your info to contact you ONLY if there any questions about your submitted photo. Your email address will also be added to The Smooch! Project mailing list and begin receiving our monthly updates, which you may opt out of at any time. We will never share or sell our contact list.
All photos will be reviewed and processed in batches. When the selected photos from the group have been uploaded to the Smooch! Contributors’ Gallery, everyone in the group will receive an email invitation to come view the latest additions to the gallery.
Sorry! This means that your photograph was not selected for the gallery. The final decision to publish is entirely at the discretion of the project photographer, Bonnie Fournier. Submitting your photograph for consideration does NOT automatically guarantee its publication. We also regret that we do not have the staff resources to individually inform or discuss the reasoning behind our decision, which is final.
