Who’s running this show, anyways?

Bonnie Fournier graduated from Metropolitan State University (St. Paul, Minnesota USA) in 1998 with a B.A. in Communications. Most of her creative life has been spent working in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and writing. In April 2006, she become the founder, master photographer and guiding spirit behind The Smooch! Project. (Click here to learn how an accidental photograph sparked this heart-lifting effort destined to someday reach around the world.) In late 2009, her fulltime work in marketing came to an abrupt end, creating an opportunity for Fournier to happily focus her entire attention on The Smooch! Project. In addition to building a volunteer support team, holding Smooch! shoots in locations around the world, and building a collection of Smooch! photos, Fournier finds time to participate in photographic exhibitions, accept public speaking engagements and grant interviews for numerous articles about the project. She considers herself an extremely lucky photographer, to have stumbled upon what she considers her life’s work.

The Smooch! Project Heroes
From the moment The Smooch! Project was founding in April 2006, this effort to collect 10,000 images from around the world has benefited greatly from the efforts of many, many volunteers who have stepped up to lend a hand. Referred to as Smooch! Project Heroes, these generous people have staffed Smooch! shoots, helped manage office tasks, and provided hours of advice on a variety of topics, including fundraising, financial management, business plan development and more. As of November 2011, The Smooch! Project had already benefited from the contributions of more than 220 Heroes, several of whom are featured in The Smooch! Project Heroes section of this website. The Smooch! Project Dreamers
Out of the Heroes community rise a very important group of amazing individuals: The Smooch! Project Dream Team. Dreamers are a group of dedicated volunteers who share the dream of collecting 10,000 photographs from around the world and have made an ongoing commitment to help bring that about. Dreamers join (or re-join) the team on an annual basis, assume the role of Smooch! Ambassadors and form the inner circle of volunteer support for the project photographer. They are the Smooch! Project “worker bees” and are regularly consulted for advice, expertise and more. Dreamers both shape and create the future of The Smooch! Project. The immensely grateful photographer knows that without the enthusiastic support & hands-on contributions of The Dream Team, the momentum of this project would slow to a crawl.
